Reeperbahn 2019 saw DIY arriving in style with a special Berlin to Hamburg train. The Festival Train, which travels from Berlin to Hamburg , the day before Reeperbahn Festival kicks off, boasted a series of stripped back performances from an array of different acts, including former Class of 2018 tour alumni Bloxx, who headlined the DIY & CD Baby carriage alongside Berlin-based bands Amistat and Farafi. Later on in the week, DIY also took over Molotow Club to soundtrack Reeperbahn’s Saturday night with some of our fave bands around (Together Pangea, Partner, Ali Barter, and Sports Team) performing on our DIY stage.
We were also involved in the Reeperbahn Training Day, chairing three exciting talks, with help from CD Baby, that saw us in conversation with some of the most interesting names in the ‘biz.
Taking place at the Schmidt Theater, we chatted ‘Building Your Team For Success’ (When and how is the best time to bring together your team?), ‘Doing It Yourself’ (How are record labels forced to operate in this day and age, and is it really easier than ever to do it yourselves?), and ‘Selling Yourself With A Global Mindset’ (The art of building your personal brand and getting your name out there). The latter session will also saw us joined by Sports Team’s Alex Rice who headline the DIY stage that evening.
