In a unique year, post a two year pandemic ridden absence, SXSW led the return of live showcase festivals and industry meet ups.
With some of the most exciting artists of the moment including Yard Act, Self Esteem and Wet Leg, UK artists dominated the event playing to packed out crowds across Austin’s many venues.
DIY was once again, in its sixth year of SXSW, media partner to the British Music Embassy alongside industry sponsors including the Department of International Trade, PPL, BPI, AIM, MMF, and Marshall.
Being the first show of the official SXSW music festival, the DIY stage was met with a euphoric welcome as we featured some of the UK’s more recent emerging talent that included Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Moonchild Sanelly , CMAT, Strawberry Guy, Nuha Ruby Ra and Gallus.
Equally packed was the one in one out DIY show in the smaller back yard setting of Augustine on the famous Rainey Street stretch of Austin Tx, where Self Esteem, Yard Act and Walt Disco with Priya Ragu, Baby Queen and US guests Gustaf in tow.
