This month, we’re incredibly excited to welcome Zara Larsson to the cover for the first time. A pop star like no other, Zara’s new record ‘Poster Girl’ sees her offering up “a collection of bangers” – both our words and hers – while still representing the new breed of driven, ambitious artists that are slaying it right now. “The older I get, the less compromising and the more control I take of everything I do,” she tells us, in our cover feature. “I’m the face of this – the person who’s got to stand by everything I release – so why would I compromise that for someone else? But this is a big collaboration, at least for me, and it’s an artform in itself to be able to deal with people in the best way possible, without doing something you don’t want to do.” Once again grappling with the challenges imposed by current restrictions, DIY’s creative team worked closely (but remotely) with sensational photographer Arvida Byström to create a unique but electrifying suite of assets for the campaign, which launches today across print, online, social media and email marketing. The new issue’s release also coincides with the release of Zara Larsson’s long-awaited new album, which is out now.
