DIY joins the “Meet the tastemakers” at AIM and Downtown Music New York Music Month on line conferences.

DIY will be taking part in Meet the Tastemakers sessions

As part of our continued commitment to music education and artist career development, DIY is looking forward to taking part in AIM’s initiative  Future Independents.

It’s Association of Independent Music (AIM) all-day online conference for emerging artists, labels and managers on Thursday 8th June.

As part of the event, they’re organising an informal Zoom networking session where a select number of delegates who are starting out can meet 1-2-1 with professionals from across the UK music industry and I am delighted to be the representative from DIY Magazine taking part as an industry expert?

‘Meet The Tastemakers’ networking session is on Thursday 8th June from 14:30 to 15:30 (BST).

NYMM is an initiative of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment

Downtown Music has partnered with the New York Mayor Office to run a series of virtual panels during June at New York Music Month and DIY will be contributing to the session:

GETTING NOTICED: HOW TO WORK WITH PRESS & MEDIA

08 JUNE | 5PM BST

The talks will cover : “For a new artist or label, getting noticed by the press isn’t easy. You need the network to help you grow but need to grow to develop a network. It’s a catch-22 situation. So what should you do to get in front of the media and how do you capitalize on each and every bit of coverage you get, whether it’s a review, blog article, or full-blown artist feature. This panel will help you shape your press strategy and provide best practices to make journalists and writers sit up and listen”.

The audience will be global as all of FUGA’s clients have been invited, plus a lot of NYU students.
