As the UK went into lockdown in March 2020 DIY took the initiative to put on the first ever DIYsolation virtual festival.
Handing the keys to our Instagram over to some of our faves, we got Pale Waves, Sports Team, Marika Hackman, Self Esteem, and more playing some exclusive live sets from their isolation stations, alongside Peace doing a quiz, Anna from Metronomy doing a DJ set, and Creeper reading us some spooky bedtime stories to close the weekend out.
Over the Easter weekend 26 acts recorded 80,000 streams and DIY’s instagram following increased by 10,000.
Not only that, but we teamed up with Help Musicians to raise some money to support the music industry during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They had already had more than 15,000 support requests from artists so far during the crisis, so there’s no better time to help out and give as generously as you can.
